Looks like I'll be starting work at Cudd on Monday. They say they're going to be putting me in a hotel since there's no housing right now in Odessa.

Enjoy that hotel, you will be there awhile as housing can be very difficult to find without selling your soul for it.Good Luck.

Housing starts around $1000/mo for anything decent. Mobile home/travel trailer parks run about 400-500 and most have waiting lists. The company I run fuel for puts us up in nice trailers on the yard. I park my truck 100 feet from the shacks and the fuel island is only 200 feet away. Our company also has no requirement to relocate to the area or finding your own living quarters after any length of time. Our hourly rate is not at the top of the scale, but that housing is worth at least 200-300/week. Not certain about Cudd, but several companies who put crews in motels give you a set time limit to find housing on your own. Have fun, be safe and enjoy the money that's flowing with the boom.

There are billboards up and down I20 in the Midland/Odessa area advertising $3000 sign on bonuses.

Do you know any of the companies by chance?
