i guess since im here i'll update:
About a month or so ago they created a new run, which was given to me. 416 mile round trip to Beckley, WV and back every day. Pays better then the nashville run but im looseing dock hours because the other driver doesnt show up until 1pm at the earlyest... Its not a horrible run, speed limit is 70 most of the way so as long as i have a 70+ mph truck and im not crazy heavy i can do it in 3.25hrs (6.5 hrs round trip). No lights, no BS. Although lots of hills, 1 toll booth, and a TON of traffic for the last 20 miles comeing back into charlotte every afternoon. Worst part is the other driver has to go 20 miles in the wrong direction to scale loads so....he just doesnt scale anything....
Now the new company policy is trailers must be at least 82% full before they can leave which is causing huge over weight issues do to all the cheap heavy freight we haul. I had a set a week ago with a 19,800lb and a 19,500lb pups....my MT weight with a set is 40,000lbs....so i was over gross by 180lbs...had to have something taken off. Then 2 days later i had a 28,000lbs load on a van and had to have 4,200lbs taken off because most of that weight was on the tail of the trailer and i couldnt move my axles any further back due to driving threw VA and theyre scale is almost never closed.
Seems like the longer i work here the smaller the paychecks get

welcome to the real world ==> the rest of us play games with recruiters & it is zero-pay so you are ahead .... I pulled a 35-40' dry-van for Carson & Barnes Circus in the 70's for a few months for which I was paid an additional $3 / day over the base rate of $6 / day ~ [!] -
