If I fuel, when I go in to get my receipt, if I want a refill on my ice tea or coffee, I refill. And never pay. Just walk out. I just got 200 gallons of fuel at almost 4 bucks a gallon or more. That's payment enough for 12 ounces of coffee or 32 ounces of tea. If I ever get told by a cashier that I need to pay for it, then I will no longer fuel at that truck stop.
Cost of coffee

as a part of the mega fleet we get $.20-.30 of the cash price for fuel
mom and pop we get the cash price
I guess i will have to suffer thru every 6th cup free
and mom and pop have nasty showersanj8488 Thanks this. -
In all honesty tho, if I do get fuel & go inside with my drink cup & get a soft drink, most of the time they don't even take my free drink code from my rewards card even tho I get a new code every day. Its not a big deal for me but I understand how & why it could be for people to have to pay for fuel & not get .25 worth of drink from a soda fountain.

Buy a coffee maker. :dunno:

I just think a buck 67 is to high for a 12 oz refill. I did want a free hand out. Just a fair price

This thread is funny. I guess some dont know that these mega truckstops got their billions from selling FUEL not coffee. Coffee sales are just a drop in the bucket, get real. Simple enough, I thought. I still miss getting my free steak dinner and free coffee every time I fuel up at the full service pumps. Yes, they washed your windows and checked the oil. If you didnt have time to eat, they gave you a coupon for your free steak dinner. Can I get an AMEN...

Sapp Brothers is a good example, they are my favorite overall truckstop I especially like the one in SLC. There have been a lot of good points made in this thread, I guess that's what it's all about. I am with you about the long lines bender, that has always been my beef with them, wait in line to get to the pump, wait in line to prepay, wait in line to get the receipt and change, they have recently addressed some of that. All in all I can't honestly expect someone who wasn't around years ago to understand, but IMHO times have not changed for the better in a vast portion of our industry.

Pilot only sells fuel to get you to come in and buy the coffee. Hell their tankers even say COFFEE on the back of em.
-
Still don't get it, your 300 gallons gets you 300 pts which is more than the $1.68/168 points needed to get your cup of Coffee

If you have the card.
HwyPrsnr Thanks this.
