i'm not tickled about my CPM being tied to MPG, as ultimately will happen.

i drive with students all the time, and i try to have them behind the wheel as much as possible. when i drive the truck, i get 7.00 to 7.50 MPG. when they drive the truck, they get 6.75.

i haven't heard anything about allowing for this in the new pay plan. as a trainer, it seems that i will make more money by not letting the students drive.

I hear ya. Luckily my trainer was a lease operator. He taught me how to drive for MPG and we consistently got 7.5 or higher. We never went above 60mph though lol. I didn't mind, it was his money.

In my prostar Im averaging 4.5mpg this trip. Yes, 4.5 miles per gallon

The main performance value that bothers me is tying the pay in with the number of miles you drive. We have no control of the miles we drive. Every time I have gotten close to the annual miles to get an annual raise I start sitting 1 to 1 1/2 days between dispatches. Where is the "Your Choice" in that? And the mpg thing if it is similar to the past a driver is better off saying the h*** with mpg and driving as fast as you can. Lets say you earn a penny a mile for mpg, if you drive 30000 miles a quarter that is an extra $300.00. Now your milage pay is 38 cpm, you can drive 61 vs 55 mph 35 hours per week. That is an extra 210 miles a week times 13 weeks for a quarter equals 2730 extra miles. 2730 times .38 equals $1037.40. Makes you think twice about doing all those mpg suggestions they give you, huh? If they wanted to make a real difference they would acknowledge that most of the miles problem is planners, equipment repairs and wild goose chases (trying to find empty trailer). And they would acknowledge that by guaranteeing a minimum weekly pay if you are available for the whole 7 days of that week and prorate it for less.

I agree, thats why im not happy about our pay being tied with MPG. Im averaging 4.5 on this trip, i usually get 6.5 on average. On top of that I pull flatbed and my mpg goal is 7.4 or something like that for this month.

I see I am not the only one that drove foot to the floor, I did the math too and found I made more not trying for the bonus. I always got around 6.75 MPG average but never got the bonus becasue I would roll over 70 at least once a month. I think you could get the bonus, buit it would cost you money. I don't know if the new plan will be better or worse, but I always looked at the base pay as all the pay I would get.

Gents; As mentioned in one of my posts I should be aboard Rohel soon, soooooo I have a few questions. I looked into regional (solo). What milage can I expect weekly running hard, I'm not interested in much home time. What about teams, weekly mileage and what are the primary lanes they run. Thanks

    i also.

apparently it was quite popular, because that's the strategy that has been eliminated by Your Choice. now you have to do it, or your pay will stagnate or go down.

I can't tell you anything on teams, roehl isn't a team company their more of a solo or husband and wife team. If you Want to team you will need to have a friend or someone your going through orientation with to do it.

Idk about the lanes but in flat bed I'm IP and down i65 and i55 a lot as well as across i70 and i80
