Finally got the old freight shaker headed down the road. My load wasn't ready until 1800 but I did manage to make a few dollars doing some other work around town while waiting. Truck is rolling along fine. I think I probably passed more people in 3.5 hours driving today than I have in the last 3 years:) Tuckered out so decided to call it a day with only a couple of hundred miles knocked out but really no time frame on getting this thing to Henderson so no worries.

Yeah Vegas is a blast. I have never seen a UFC fight. I have seen a lot of the Cirque du Soliel shows and those cats are amazing. Lots of real good hiking and camping to be had as well.

Well availed myself to the old split sleeper option today as I woke up a couple of hours early. Started about 3 hours SE of Amarillo and finished the day in Holbrook, AZ for a paltry 685 miles:) With these long loads I could foresee a 4K mile week if all the stars aligned sometime in the near future. The old girl ran well today and I am pretty happy with finally having a real APU for the first time. The one thing I would change is to have my comfy drivers seat back from the International as this one isn't that comfortable. Should be rolling into Vegas around noon and plan on coming back out on Tuesday after I get some stuff squared away at the homestead.

Maiden voyage in the books. Everything pretty smooth dropping the trailer off in Henderson. Now got to head to Wally World and pick up some additional things for the new ride since I have an APU/inverter. Will be nice to brew my own coffee now:)

Ok, now I am jealous. After reading this entire thread, I feel like I am missing out!! Kind of sounds like that the stress level is pretty well non-exsistant, and that by itself is something you very very rarely find.

My next dispatch was on this past Wednesday going to Laredo for Thursday at 0700. I reloaded in Laredo later the same morning going to Ft Worth for an 0930 delivery. I was on the outbound board for Friday, but I had not received a call by 1230 when I returned to Grand Prairie. I called to find out if I would in fact get an offer for Friday or if it would be Saturday. Was told it would a Saturday load.

I need to be home this weekend and I didn't want to take the chance of going out and then not get back in time, so I asked the Compliance supervisor if he might need help with local runs this week. He said yes and to show up for work at 0530 Monday (today), so I took myself off the outbound board and went home for the weekend.

This morning I arrived as told and was given a load going to Waco for an 0800 delivery. I left there at 0900 and when I returned at 1130 was told there was nothing else and to return tomorrow at the same time. I made a statement that I would like to make more money than thatand was told "I'll take care of you." Hope that means what it did the last time I was told that when doing some local work when I first started. At that time I worked about six hours on the yard and got paid for 10hrs.

My productivity for October won't be good because of doing local work this week (my choice) and taking next week off, plus the Monday following next week. Then I need to be back home by the end of the month for a few more days off.

I currently live in Las Vegas Nevada. Recently quit my knight driver job and looked around and Poly trucking looked good. I read the good threads about them and filed out and app and got in contact with thier recruiter. We talked for a while and seemed pretty nice and told me more about the app process. I hope everything goes well. Looking to get out ont the road again.

    Be safe out thier all.
