Whatever happened to driving slow enough or slowing down when you approach a sharp curve or enter a cloverleaf or exit/entrance ramp..giving advice on how to "fix " it "if she starts to lean" is way too late...the OP has only a year behind the wheel and is asking smart questions..don't let him think that ignoring "comman sense" and driving in a careless Or what I think is, with a "COWBOY" attitude...all that does is get him in trouble or worse killed.
Are there any "Warning signs" before a rollover???

My truck beeps at me and tells me to slow down. It isn't very smart.

Look at the side of your truck. If it says CR England, then its likely to roll over.
halfburn and dirtjersey Thank this. -
Theres a couple examples here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K17Tl2KaMuY&feature=related watch the attitude of the truck just before it goes over (not so much the one that blow over in the wind).

Yuppers.... the deal is slow down before you get to the curve. Those exit ramp and curve cautionary speed signs are for FOUR-WHEELERS. Beware!!!!

iron,
i was taught that at my driving school, that is completely false
as a traffic engineer, they MUST design the road for the worst possible scenario, ie a big truck NOT for 4wheelers, hence that 25mph sign is designed for big trucks, not 4wheelers (and definitely not motorcycles), i used to run some of those turns at 50-70mph (on my bike)
and to this day, i have never ran into a curve that i could not go the posted cautionary speed limit. typically, even when heavy, i can go 5 or 10 faster
i am not advocating anyone to do this, it is always safer to go as safely possible, but my point is constantly telling people that those cautionary signs are for 4wheelers is not true
because once you find out its not true, you will start not believing other things are not true -
REALLY? You and I aren't driving on the same roads - because I've encountered plenty of exit ramps that if you run the cautionary exit speed in an 18-wheel CMV - let alone 5 or 10mph over, you're going to be explaining bent metal and spilled load to the safety director, the investing LEO, a judge, a defense lawyer, etc.dirtjersey Thanks this.

nothing is made for big trucks. road engineers couldnt give a rats butt about making a curve for 18 wheelers or an on ramp with plenty of room, or wide supporting shoulders, or proper bridge clearances.
those cautionary signs are for 4 wheelers.
what is the worst possible senario, a tanker? cattle hauler? over sized load? They have no idea about center of gravity or weight and length of big trucks.dirtjersey Thanks this. -
yeah, Nothing says clueless like a roundabout.formertaxidriver, CertifiedSweetie, dude6710 and 3 others Thank this.
