I Start With Averitt in January 2012

Dirt! Guess what. I thought all my app. process was over. I did the interview with Averitt Monday. Been playing phone tag with recruiter all week. Now Averitt just called me and told me they could not verify my employment with my father's company because they would not take verification from my family member. Ha Ha. This was not even 30 minutes after I responded to you. I didn't bring up the IRS form though because I'm already leaning towards Crete. I still thought this was funny.

 

lucky, i was wondering if that was going to be a problem for you.
i was able to get ahold of one of the original owners of the company, had him call and verify i worked there, because he did not have my exact dates and other info. they would not take it as a verification.
He said the other owner kept all of the employee files. but has since moved and does not know how to get into contact with him. so i guess im just SOL with averitt.
on a brighter side i did get a test drive for sat. with a company that is kinda local. they said they will do a test drive then run mvr n dac. they dont care about 7-8 years ago.

Hey all hope everyone is having a good day so far. I had a fun time this morning pulling out a local averitt driver with my 96 blazer never thought it would happen but it did anyway I do have a question about the trucks his was manual tranny sounded that way anyway but seeing as I will be a newbe by years end I was wondering are the trucks for training manual or auto of all the companies I’ve looked at averitt is top of the list but I do think I should learn manual first thanks for any info.

 

I beg to differ. I worked with 2 other companies and they had autos and were swapping back. They both hated the autos. I hope Averitt sees this issue as well soon.

 

Are you kidding me! I would NEVER go back to a manual ever!......You Billy Big Rigger wantabe's have absolutely NO IDEA what you are talking about. 2 other companies in one year uhhuh! BTW I have over 3 million accident free,out of service free,miles! I've been in 48 states driving a truck,Snow,Ice,Mountians and Canada. I've been with Averitt for 9 years,made money EVERY year I've been with them,missed only 3 weekends at home. There is NO,repeat NO other trucking company I would even think of driving for. You can listen to those other PREDATOR company recruiters BS and get screwed or come here and build something for yourself and your family. You listen to them you deserve what you get!

 

Do you guys get a full 48 hrs off on the weekend?

Doesn't sound like a bad deal. How r they if u have somthing planed were to need a few days off?
