It would cost the same to fly or drive but would still have to get to Marshfield.... well i will have to weigh cost and convenience of it all.

Last time I drove was late 90's so have to go though classes again but I shouldn't have a problem. Backing was easy for me so no probs there also. Maybe we'll tag up sometime on the road or at a terminal.
Do you take your truck close to the house or have to leave it in Jacksonville, and then find a ride to Sanford? -
Plus if you drive you'll have to drive your car back to where you live. If you didnt then you'll drive a truck back to where you live. As far as after orientation and after you test out you'll get issued a truck then a load or two headed towards your home to have some hometime after the whole orientationa and training process

I did 14/7 out of Jacksonville where I slip seated two trucks in a rotation. At that time I drove to Jacksonville terminal and back which was no big deal since I had a week off. Now I'm national with my truck and park close to where I live a couple miles away.

Yes I was told I would go home after classroom training for a few days while I wait for a road trainer.
-
Yeah depends on the situation hopefully you can get a trainer after the classroom time and knock it out all at one time. A week of classroom and local road training and 9 days with a trainer. It's a good amount of time being away but better off to get it out of the way than rather wait for a trainer at home if you get that option. Everyone's situation is different with the details on that sort of stuff so hope it works out for you good luck.

Thank you, I am gonna see about doing it all while I am there. I think everything stays fresh that. Thanks for you help, much appreciated.

Welcome plus get some loads under your belt while coming home is good to settle in the whole process of the job. Orientation and training for me was nerve racking more than anything. More of it will be in your head as far as nerves than actually doing it. As long as you ask questions on what your unsure of and be safe, drive safe, and practice what you've been taught you'll do good.mipale Thanks this.

Very good point. Plus i might only have to pay for a 1 way trip there.....
