Walmart sets all their appts by internet. Then to reset requires we use the internet, then when the appt isn't acceptable (usually 3 days out) we have to phone the DC, leave a message, wait for them to call back and hopefully work us in sooner.
We're really up to the mercy of the DC. Some are better than others.
Redoing appts is almost impossible to do during off hours, and even during business hours can take all day.
Also, different DC's work with different numbers. Some use PO's, some use appt numbers, others I think won't accept anything just to be difficult.
None the less, if we can't find a number they like, they reject us at the gate, even tho we had crossed our Ts and dotted our I's.
It's the way of Walmart.

I did hear a driver today on ghe radio tell another if he bought a gallon of Milk in Jonesboro, he would have butter by the time he got to Little Rock. -
Ar7 is tight curves and up and down through the mountains. 2 or 3 hairpin curves posted 10 mph! Used to be called pig pen trail or something like that.
Had to restack several pallets in Walmart parking lot because of that road! -
For anyone interested, I checked with Lou in Dallas about the tanker division. New drivers who have the tanker endorsement can go from refrigerated to tanker, but they have to do at least 6 months OTR first. They do haul water for the oilfields, in San Antonia, Odessa, and west Dallas.
I start in Dallas this Sunday morning. Can't wait. Later.TRKRSHONEY and Dieselten77 Thank this. -
I am pretty sure that is just old trucker talk... there was a time when the roads.in AR were notoriously bad.
Think its left over from then. -
Enjoy the ride Mark!

Hi, I am thinking of going to Stevens Driving Academy early next year but have some concerns about the DOT physical. I am a big dude so I know my BP is going to be high but should be less than 160/100. The part I am really concerned about is the hearing. From what my mother has told me, I was born with holes in my eardrums but have had surgery to fix that and can hear out of both ears. My left ear, however, has lost a bit of hearing ability over the years. I will be quitting my job as a correctional officer to leave for Dallas to go to the academy. I was wondering if anyone could give me any advice on the DOT physical as far as the hearing is concerned. Is the forced whisper to be heard out of one ear at a time or with both open? If I cannot pass the test that way, will they give me an electronic audiological test? Will the use of a hearing aid be permitted if needed? I would honestly like to get my physical NOW so I can make sure I will pass it before I quit my job. I would hate to quit, go up there and then not pass and have to come home. If I can find the problems now, it will give me plenty of time to fix them, ya know? I would greatly appreciate any advice anyone has. Thanks and I look forward to seeing all of you on the road next year some time!
