So I wanted to start driving school pretty soon but 2 months ago I got a ticket for failure to yield and got 3 points on my record. How serious is this violation according to the carriers? I hope not to wait 3 yearsThank you for your answers.

Wouldn't sweat it. Don't think it's gonna be a big issue for most companies.
Also sounds like it's going to be one of the only things on your record.
If you are reaaaaaly worried about it, guess you could go to court and have it reduced if you haven't paid it. -
I do not have any other tickets. I already paid for it. It was clearly my fault.

Hopefully there wasn't an accident attached. If it's just a ticket and 3 points you should be acceptable. Many carriers allow up to 3 tickets if they are minor. It's those reckless major violations or repeat offender that'll getcha!

Just cut that #### out when you get in a big truck!
TRKRSHONEY Thanks this. -
Don't ask here...call the recruiters for the companies that hire students directly and ask, then get their answer in writing. We all tons of ideas about what will fly and what won't, but, we are drivers. Ask the companies directly.

Failure to Yield would probably indicate an accident. The driver record will show it as such if it was. But like Roadrealtor said you need to make some calls. Have your record ready and a copy of the accident report (if you had one).

There was no accident. Just a cop at a wrong place and wrong time

Should that not read. "Cop at the right place at the right time" ?
