Bought one for $65 at Fry's. Is this a good deal? Is it a good choice in radios? Not planning on doing anything to my radio, ever. Just wanted something decent out of the box under $100 (preferably $75). Any suggestions? No need to get into antennas or anything, just radio input, please.

It's a good radio. I had the weather version of this radio once, the PC68LTW. It did a good job of getting out.

What you have is basically the Uniden version of a Cobra 25. Both are good radios. Unfortunately, you could buy the Uniden 68XL at Pilot truckstops [May 2011] for $60. But $65 ain't a bad price.

I have been looking for mods for this radio and I have come to many sites that have for sale. They all are looking for around $75 so I would say @ $65 great price.

$66.24 at Amazon. But you do realize that the discussion took place a year and a half ago?

I wonder if the OP ever came back to read his response. FWIW I got my PC68LTW for $22 off eBay.
-
Yeah, I read the responses way back when. Thank you.

Since this thread got resurrected, I might as well say that I have no complaints with this radio. I still plan on upgrading to an 880 or 980 at some point once I get an assigned tractor and can mount my own antenna solution.

The 980 does sideband. Do you talk sideband? If not, get the 880. It'll do the same thing, just not sideband.
