every state i've been in all want lights on the widest part of the load. i bought lights and made my own sets from harbor freight.

but i have yet to see anyone actually have lights on there loads. they've always been on the tractor and rear of trailer.

When I ran OD through KY, the curfews were mainly the counties surrounding big cities--Louisville, Lexington, and Cincinnati--and it was during the peak rush hours, 5-8 or 6-8am/pm. I cant remember exactly.

Iowa, Minnesota, and Wisconsin require you to have lights on the widest part of the load to run at NIGHT (up to certain widths). Flags on the widest point is the only requirement for running during the day. My drivers get magnetic lights so they can stick them on the end of tractor axles and dozer tracks.

You mean a company that actually gives their drivers what they need to get the job done?

If you are going to do heavy haul would it make sense to print out a copy of each states provisions and keep a file in the truck. Those would be your originals and they stay in the file. When you get a load you see which states will be traveled through and you then make a copy of each states provisions from your file and attach it to your permits. Originals go back into your file and copies are attached to your permits. Next load you do the same thing.

Problems with provisions and keeping them all the time, some states update provisions weekly like California and the routes so you need to be careful.

I would actually keep the file like you said, but check the provisions on a regular basis to see if the changed.
