hello to all on truckersreport. I'm new to the forum, but wanted to introduce myself. I'm 51 yrs old and displaced from 30 + yrs in construction in N. Texas. I have lurked on the forum for a few weeks and my wife and I have been discussing a change in opportunities for the family. All things considered, being local I will start with Stevens Transport training on 10/15. I have been a member of various forums in the past and look forward to meeting more people. From what I can see there is a lot of changes ahead for us and some struggles but we plan to keep our heads up having a positive attitude. Any input will be appreciated. Glad to be aboard.![]()

Welcome to the site. If you haven't already found it, be sure to check out the Stevens sub-forum:

It'll certainly be a learning experience for you. Try to tough it out for a year, take care of your license, and you'll be in a great position to take advantage of better opportunities. Good luck! -
Thanks dogknot. Yeah I've been on that page for a few days now hearing the good, bad and the ugly. After 30 yrs on the job sites as a project manager I have some thick skin and know you have to be patient and not react from the hip. I just hope I can learn the industry from dispatch to the wheels on the road to keep moving. I need to bring home some of that bacon too. Lol.
