I have had to replace the Cord on mine a few times.
Some trucks (don't ask No Idea) have a tendency to heat the lighter plug up to a point where parts of it will melt.

This Truck I have now doesn't.

Melts the power cord to the cooler or the plug in on the dashboard?

Gotcha...well, that is good info to have. Anything else you have that you really feel is a "must have?"

On my list once I know the radio the tractor is equipped with. What inverter do you have in yours?

It's a cheap 400 Watt Cobra. Just using the lighter plug. Really only use it for Cell Phone Tablet and Laptop.

That's what I got also. Really just want to have something that can do the same thing. Thanks for the info.

    In regards to power inverters:

International ProStars have a hole in the floor of the cab that is sealed by a removable rubber plug. The location is right underneath the bunk, and near the battery box. Hard-wiring an inverter would not be difficult, although you would want to put a fuse in the hot line. You would also want to mount the inverter in a place where it could "breathe"; you wouldn't want it to overheat.

On other brands of trucks, I'm pretty certain that one could do something similar. Most vehicles have places in which you can run new wiring, and achieve professional looking results.

    mph1972 Thanks this.

That is great info! I spoke with the shop foreman and he really does not want us wiring anything on the company trucks. I have a feeling that buying a large inverter won't be allowed. smh
