Sup guys, new to the trucking industry, I was between 3 companies (Swift, Schiender, and May Transport Company) I prefer May Transport mostly because of the good reports I have heard it being a great starting company. With that said, Also got a offer from Western Express, they were going to give me a bus ticket to Nashville and train for flat bed but I heard alot of mix reviews of that company. But....Swift was the first to pull the trigger, So I set up my orientation for the 24th of October....letting other opportunities roll in....until then I will be posting updates and videos. I'm a vlogger with my motorcycle's (http://www.youtube.com/user/ricecakeFTW) check it out, subscribe, I will try to put some videos up of my experiencesAnyone that has gone thru the dirt, let me know I should be prepared for. I'm 27, healthy and active and just graduated College majoring in Fire Science and Emergency Medical Technician....BUT.....after applying to 15 different places, and no call backs and 2 "thanks but no thanks letters".......I needed to start a back up plan. Trucking was it.
Swift...here we go..........newb!

I have my CDL already w/ endorsements, just waiting for TSA background clearance to release the Hazmat.
Doesn't look like its going to change much bro.......
Its kind of the same, but Swift was faster.....talked to the recruiter, filled out an app and background check online. Waited a day: bam, got my date for orientation
Schnieder is a little bit more personal. Each step your talking to the recruiter, application and back ground is all online. Then once thats cleared, they schedule a phone interview. Which I will be doing this week. Not as quick as Swift but I'm not in a rush since my orientation is a 3 weeks out to allow other offers in.
Western Express pretty much called me and literally offered a bus ticket right away to Tennessee without even a background check which is a red flag for me.Last edited by a moderator: Oct 9, 2012
The Challenger Thanks this. -
Since you've got a YouTube channel yourself maybe you've already seen them but check out truckingcouple09. He works for swift himself and seems to enjoy it. Maybe you can get in contact with him and get some in site on what's in store for you.
