I screwed up and am now parked on an exit ramp

Gone over scales in North Carolina, Tennessee, Kentucky, etc over 150-300 on my drives and have not been hassled yet. Not saying i wont but so far i have not. I have yet to be over gross though. Under 80,000 and no issues.

And most of the states listed i would not consider communist states. Hell Tennessee doesn't even have an income tax.

Are you doing nose stands on those scales or is part of your load in the cab? Try Pennsylvania or Indiana. There are others, but those two states will usually make me adjust the tandems if I'm even close on weight.

 

The battery powered one isnt that bad.You gotta let the truck get good and cool,and close all the curtains up good.
Then shut down.It helps to do that first,if you plan on running a/c in hot weather.
Never had to use it on a really cold night.It beats not having one,especially with so many companies not wanting you to idle

 

Nope. Company disconnects the fifth wheel air supply. No way to adjust it. I get the drive and tandem weights set (usually as heavy as i can on tandems to get weight off nose) and roll. I try to set weight as heavy as i can on drives but notalways possible. This usually only comes into play on 43,000 lbs or more loads. If i could move fifth wheel back one spot it would help on those but could hurt on others. Ive yet to be questioned on my drive weights in a year. Just wauting on it to happen and hope my letter for the APU helps. Worse in the winter when i have chains hanging on the side. But i deal.

One word: WALMART.

You can't go 20 miles in any direction in this country without seeing one.
They're always on truck routes and if you have a Qual-Comm, just type in "WALMART" in the Navigation field and it'll find the closest one. Or use the DAB Trucker Tool app for a smartphone to locate.

Be careful with Qual-Comm though, Walmarts move somewhat frequently and will sometimes send you to an ex-location

And pay no mind to the "No Truck Parking" signs, that's totally a wink and nod.

Walmart at Paducah, KY, even after husband over $900.00 there would not let them park overnight. Told to move on. Best to call first maybe.
