Never took that long for me at Schneider. Hasn't taken that long here at Crete. If it's taking 4 days for a PM with no complications, that IS a problem. -
Don't think thats acceptable at all.
But was fairly common at the Wrong Shops when I worked for Swift.
They got mad at me once. DH myself from Jonestown Pa to Martinsburg WV to get PM dones in a reasonable amount of time.48Packard Thanks this. -

Never waited more than 10 hours on a PM. 4 days is dumb.

Yes that's what I have experienced as well. Working for the 1,000 plus truck fleets(3 to 4 day pm). Like 48 said. Watch who you listen too. Especially those who are quick to give you their truck number after talking to you. I don't see those guys on the conway thread bragging about all the money they are counting. So like the other guy said. Chill for 6 months and then go else where, but I doubt the grass is greener on the other side. Also You are dreaming if you think you are going to take home more then 600 a week as a newbie doing local. Probably closer to 400-500. Now yes you might get that one job that is paying big bucks but your chances are better hitting the lotto. You also can get paid more by working at those food service distributors who do pay a lot, but your body will take the beating in the long run. Hope it works out for you guy. Welcome to trucking.

Yea you don't make much money as a newbie,,, but you'll work harder a lot of times than more experienced guys because you work cheaper. Also, most of the experienced guys I know that sticks with these big companies, are still not making any money to speak of...Look at it this way, if you had a job making minimum wage, and then worked say 70 hours like most drivers have to work,,, well you would make time and a half instead of the same ole cpm like you will on a truck...and probably come out with more money...We truckers for the most part, unless you have a local job or dedicated in some cases, put almost 2 weeks worth of work into one....and anyone that does that,, and as dangerous as this job is, shouldn't make less than $1000.00 a week.

How would one work 70 hours in your scenario? Seven ten hour days? Six twelve hour days, knocking off two hours early on Saturday? Are you talking about coal miners or cotton pickers? -
-
What I'm saying is, if you could work 70 hours a week,, you would make more money...You know some people do work more than 40 hours on other jobs, right? This is not brain science,,, I know people that work double shifts at Dollar General that make way more than a lot of truck drivers....
