Anyone ever deal with this new technology company called OpenMile? If so:

    1) Are they any good - good prices or no?

    2) What are they hauling?

    3) Easy to work with or no?

    Thanks.

I was wondering the same thing. I have tried to contact them with no luck. They look like a scam that will never get off the ground. I dont know what they did with their 60million they reised but I have seen NO adds anywhere for this site. All they are is a site.

My name is Juliette and I am a community manager at Open Mile. Sorry to hear you had a tough time trying to contact us! Open Mile is very much a real company. We are funded by the same venture capital firms who invested in companies such as Twitter and Quattro Wireless (later bought by Apple).

I'd like to talk to you and find out more about your experience with us.

For those who don't know Open Mile, I've included some information below:

Open Mile, Inc. is a non- asset truckload service provider. We are combining new web and mobile technology with a "fresh approach" to disrupt the truckload transportation industry. Think of us as a "high tech broker."
At Open Mile we are automating many of the manual tasks of transportation brokerage. From sourcing to booking to tracking and payment all aspects of the process can be handled on the web or over a mobile application. Our belief is that by automating key processes we can operate more efficiently than traditional service providers by passing on these cost savings to both our carrier and shipper customers. But don't worry; if you need to reach someone on the phone, our team is available 24x7x365.
Here at Open Mile, we are not just bringing a technology change, we are changing the attitude of the truckload transportation industry by focusing on "honesty" and "transparency". We are always open to sharing pricing information, key performance metrics and historical results in an effort to bring "trust" into the equation between all parties in the transportation process.
Since our 2010 launch we've added thousands of active carriers in our network and dozens of shippers who rely on us as a core part of their transportation strategy. These folks see the difference in the Open Mile way. Sure we still are a traditional transportation service provider, but with a high tech approach and a fresh way of conducting business.

Sure you are a "real" company with "real" freight.

I just got my login information and logged in to only find 78 loads scattered across the country.

Only 78 loads and you call yourself a "real" company? I have seen free freight boards I consider crappy that have more freight than you guys.

Like I posed before. I would like to know where all of the "venture capital" money went??

Your post here is highly unusual by the way. From where I am standing, your post looks like "damage control".

Seriously, you are on this board just to respond to my post? You guys must have some time on your hands . Maybe you should get some freight on your "site" vs trolling the boards trying to respond to posts like mine.

    Ha Ha this is funny!!!

These guys claim to be doing something different, changing the industry right?? All this technology right?

Well they post the loads that you find on their own site on the DAT boards.

    Looks like a duck
    Walks like a duck
    Quacks like a duck

    Its a duck.

Just another broker trying to make you think they are something they are not.

I would say watch out for these guys.

Hey we are working on something similar to Openmile but in Europe. We are trying to find a way to make it so you guys get direct access to shippers. I have a question, would you guys prefer to pay a monthly rate, or do you prefer per load. We don't want to be the duck, we really want to offer something different...but we are still in the phase of knowing exactly what that is.

Interested to see what you would want to change.

Ouch..... I think I did a good paying same day pick and drop about 200 miles load for Openmile back in February to Indianapolis. Will have to go back and check. Are they based out of Boston?
