FYI, anyone going thru the interview process with Walmart, be patient...From the time of my interview/roadtest etc, it took them 4 weeks, to contact me, to set up the second interview, which is next week..
From what I understand, this should be a job offer, where they explain the pay/benefits etc, and a trip to the clinic, for a DOT physical, and a drug screen. I also understnad, at this point, they do a criminal background check.
If everything comes back ok, at this point, they call you and give a start date, and then you can plan your separation with your current employer.
Very excited and thankful for the likleyhood of going to work for the Walmart Private Fleet!
Got the call I was looking for!!!

braceface Thanks this. -
Congratulations hope it works out. From what i've heard it's hard getting on with Walmart and they have a waiting list.
braceface Thanks this. -
Hey Braceface which D.C are you gonna be running out of?
-
is working for Wal Mart as easy as it seems? i know the job isn't easy to GET...but just going back and forth between DC's and stores? and dropping and hooking? that seems very simple. if i am mistaken could someone enlighten me? and does your driving record have to be perfect?
-
I'll let ya know, surely its not gonna be as stressful as the LTL grind I'm in now....Doing it for nearly 20 years for the same employer.
Now, I do 15-20 stops a day, 300-400 miles a day, residential deliveries, no time to stop and eat a lunch...HURRY-HURRY-HURRY!!CB
I don't know if your driving record has to be perfect, but mine is, no accidents or tickets...You for sure have to meet the minimum qualifications.
I drive a POS single axle tractor, with a million plus miles in it, thats 15 years old...I believe for me at least, its gonna be much better.Last edited: Sep 3, 2012

Take it very seriously!!! Prepare for your interview, anticipate the questions you will be asked...Be yourself, and try not to be nervous..
If they like you, you will be offered a roadtest...If you are offered a roadtest, make sure you do the best pre-trip that is possible.
They are looking for the best of the best, you need be a cut a above, and stand out..[
This is the best truck driving job out there in my opinion, I can't ephasize enough, TAKE THIS INTERVIEW SERIOUSLY, if you want a chance of getting hired!
Good luck!QUOTE=grabberblue12;2859836]congrats have my first interview next week any advice would be much appreciated..[/QUOTE] -
