how can we tell if a shipper will pay you the money you worked so hard for? what are some requirements to look for?
I am anxious because i am getting a broker that works directly with shippers telling me he has a load..but i dont know how he will pay..
Good Shipper or not?

Probably need to move this thread from under this category....you'll get more responses....
-
what category should i move it too?
-
I submitted for a move....perhaps to the "Shippers and Receivers" section. Give 'em a few minutes....they'll get it fixed for ya and you should get some assistance. Good luck!
-
thanks please move this as soon as possible i need answers!

If you are getting it from a broker I would be more worried about the broker paying than the shipper. I could care less if the shipper pays as long as the broker pays me. And if you are worried about the broker not paying and having to go after the shipper then I wouldn't touch the load to begin with

We used CH Robertson they seemed to pay well

Are you new to all this? Most brokers work directly with shippers. Run credit on broker.
FYI, bad debt in trucking is less than .01% from brokers. And at .07% from shippers. (sources is from support documents from those for and against increasing the bond that were filed with Congress). In real dollars - that is $10 per $100,000 in gross revenue.
Other interesting points from those various studies - it takes 7-9 months from the point that a claim is filed on a bond for it to be paid. Factoring companies have the highest percentage of paid VALID claims at around 70%. Trucking companies with 10 or more trucks are at about 40% and independent O/O's are less than 10% (reports had actual numbers but I didn't write them down).
I am going to try and get copies of these reports that I can legally post. Very interesting reading on what the biggest threats to O/O's are in terms of losing revenue.carwreck and Mr. PlumCrazy Thank this. -
Interesting read Bill.. where do you get that info from?

I do ch robertson loads all the time they Do pay and will pay detention time most of the time without questions asked. very easy to deal with them from my exp. Only complain is the load should pay about 20% more.
