Check Craigslist. Also check with storage places but keep in mind that they can get pricy. You can check with some local places with big parking lots, but be prepared to be turned away or asked to pay a fee. Also, there are some stories out there of people that received permission from property managers, but got towed anyways because either A: the towing company never was informed that you got permission or B: they don't care and towed you anyways because it's a quick $600+ cash for them. Most likely B because most towing companies are scumbag ########.
If you can't tell, I had my truck towed from my apartment complex even though I had written permission to park there and they knew it. It was my JCT truck to boot...tore off a mudflap. #######es.

Ohh my that totally blows. Does JCT offer any insurance lime dental medical etc.
-
Yes they do offer those types of insurance I still wouldn't work there unless you're single and don't have a family to support
-

If you believe that running a business is easy and fun. Then theres no reason you should ever become an owner operator. Stick with the company side. Lets take jct and compare it with one of the bigger companies like prime, stevens, ffe. Jct covers tolls, scales, lumpers, reefer fuel, fuel tax reporting, highway use tax, and much more whereas the other companies charge you every single one of those items. Avg fixed cost with jct is $900 a week and its competition anywhere from $1000 to $1500 on top of the other variable costs. Not everyone is successful here but its not impossible.
scottied67 Thanks this. -
It's competition $1000-$1500? Please. Mine is $729. Only one I know of over $1000 is Prime. I don't pay for tolls, lumpers, reefer fuel, I would rather get the full fuel discount and pay my own fuel tax instead of how JCT only gives you a small portion of the discounts they get. Exaggerate much?socal Thanks this.

I don't pay a truck payment, fuel, or anything else yet I make good money. Goes to show you that you don't have to lease to make decent money.
Enjoy your taxes. -
Exaggerate? i know drivers from those other companies. So your $729 for how many years? 6,7,8? I never ever said there arent better companies out there. all im saying is jct isnt this horrible company a few of yall make it sound.

3 years 10 months. My truck will have less that 600,000 miles on it when I pay it off which means a lot of life left on it. How many miles did yours have on it when you paid it off? How are you enjoying owner operator life without truck payments now? Your not huh? Because your truck was a used up piece of junk and you had to replace it and are paying payments on another truck.
-
No big deal. Paying lots of taxes means your making lots of money. Made close to $80,000 so far this year after expenses.
