Hi at all,
I am trying to help a friend which is working for tectas.at. Please see her mail below:
We are an Austrian company that is planning to rent a truck with trailer.
We need to have it loaded to the maximum capacity with ballast such as sand for our test drive. We are developing testing equipment for trucks and would temporarily install very small cameras and sensor units in and around the truck for vibration measurements. All testing will be done under normal operating conditions for the truck.
We would need a Peterbilt 386 with original MX Paccar Engine and fully loaded trailer plus a driver from 2012-10-15 until 2012-10-19. It is very essential, that the year of manufacture of the truck must NOT be before 2010!
Additionally, we would of course need insurance for truck, trailer and driver.
Any help will be aprecciated. Payment shouldn't be the problem.
Please let me know if anybody can help.
Many thanks in advance,
Daniel

Something dont sound right What is this a test what are they testing scary
-
It's a company, which develope testing equipment for notable companys like BMW, Magna and so on...
As far as I am informed, they test the vibrations and stuff like that... all under normal driving condition.
There is an english version at www.tectos.at -
Really nobody? Just got the information, that a Kenworth T800 with Paccar MX would also be Ok.
They would fly anywhere in the US to do their job... I think you can earn good money... Make an offer guys... -
I don't think anyone wants to use their livelihood as a test vehicle.
I can understand that. Can you? -
Sure I can, I think you understood it wrong, the tests will be done under normal driving conditions, the owner will drive his truck, not the guy from Tectos. He will place his sensors and cameras in the engine compartment and will sit at the passenger seat with a laptop. That's it.

This could be easy money for somebody. If I had a paccar mx I'd volunteer. You might get better results also posting this question in garage section...
-
Thanks for advise, rollin coal, I'll try it in the garage section. Meanwhile the tests had been postponed to week 44.

Thanks to everybody, they've found a truck for next week.
