Truck fixed and ready to roll. I saw the pm get done really quick so I went to bed thinking it would be a while today to get back from the dealer. Went down there this morning to check it and it was ready. Went to the dealer last night and back ready this morning. Not used to that quick of service. Then I told my FM that I could get a reset or go ahead and roll outta here. He said the planner needed me to roll so I was ok. Got the truck and settled in the next preplan was a reefer load to Chicago. FM said it pays more and maintenance will tell me about how to run the reefer. I told my fm long story short I refuse and non-committed the load. That they shouldve planned to have a reefer driver here to take it in and not fall on me. I apoligized and hate to do so but not worth my while. I dont know what will happen we'll see what happens. I need a reset anyways and told them if it affects my miles and loads because of it then so be it. lol I'm in drtys situation when the had him haul a van being flatbed so its more understanding from his situation on what he went through but we'll see what happens. I'm sure theyre are not happy but o'well not my problem. I live dry van not any other division much like our loyal flatbedders are to tarp stretching. lol

you should have taken the reefer load...it isn't that bad...its like yankin van....just make sure the light stays green....(basically)...and the new reefer units are dummy proof....everything is in digital read outs....

Thing is though after being at a dedicated reefer company....I would never want to pull Reefers for Roehl again...because of the fact Roehl has no clue when it comes to food hauling...they are more worried about the fuel the thing is using....its waaaay to micromanaged for me......

I love the company I am at....have no need to change in the foreseeable future....but if I did decide to leave...I probably would go back to Roehl...and try my hand at stretching tarps...(for a little bit anyway)....and no that is not a hint....I am stayin here in Iowa with my current company because they pay me good money...and we don't really have a resource guide....I love it here

From an outside non-driver point of view this is very smart. Understand what is in your best interest. If picking up two more loads and dumping them in the drop yard gets you there it's worth it. I have a driver that got home every two weeks and we always had runs to for him to pick up and relay back in the yard. He refused every single time. At the end of the year he missed his mileage bonus by 202 miles. He felt pretty dumb at that point in time (then he quit, but mostly because he found a company where he could take a dog in the truck).

I do love my drivers seat.

Anyone know if "leased to" is required to be on the truck? Id take it off and have a stealth Roehl truck, pass other drivers as if their standing still. Make them wonder if their going fast enough lol

So I took the load the reefer operations manager called and convince me to ride. Everyone's right no big deal I get more money on this one and dry freight nex load being loaded in the reefer get reefer pay for it too even though its dry goods. Then they got me a load to orl. No lumpers and place is right off the exit. I didn't want it to be late and make Roehl look bad on the account so I sucked it up and rode with this gorgeous trailer. Rides beautiful

This may seem like a stupid question.... Whats the deal with 1. coopnp not wanting to take the reefer load. 2. Is it a pride issue, or not wanting that divison to start thinking they can lay loads on flat bed drivers when ever they want. I'm new to trucking and really would like to have a little insite to the this deal. Thanks, Pirate Trucker XOXX
