A fleet wide message VIA Qualcomm said that the container division, which is technically under the umbrella of England Logistics, is now moving over to CR England. We will now be a dedicated fleet at cre, I guess this explains all the company trucks coming in. My DM said I will be fine to stay within the fleet as an IC but who knows what might happen in the future.

I was talking with another England driver from the container division last night and he used to run in the Walmart dedicated out of Cheyenne. He said as soon as his lease was up he was removed from that fleet. He bought the truck at the end of his lease but they would not let him stay within the Walmart fleet. The driver says it has something to do with a lawsuit that dedicated drivers are more like company drivers since they don't have options on the freight or trips they get.

Does anyone know the paperwork (birth certificate, pass port, social security car..etc) needed to sign up with c. r. england or any other trucking company.

    Man-0-Man Dewey!
Is there anyone who'll give you a straight answer? How does one plan for the future when the future is uncertain? For a company that emphasizes "good work ethics" for their Big truck truck drivers, I'd think would lead by example. Apparently not the case, --- unless "ethics" is something else the Sons-0-Chester have re-defined the meaning of.

If what you're hearing through the grapevine is true it would appear that there will be an urgent need for more company drivers. That could indicate a better chance of landing a company driver position for those heading to CRE in the near future. Ya reckon.

Whatever happens, I hope you'll have the time to continue posting here. I've come to consider you the voice of truth. I appreciate that.

    Howdy Lidscrew,
    Welcome to The Trucker's Report.
You've got questions, We've got answers.

That bein' said, I don't feel qualified to answer your question (above), so I'll leave that to those who are.
What I have to offer is an answer to a question not yet asked, .... an opinion, to consider.

How serious are you about driving a Big truck?
Whereas your asking here is a good thing, I think you could make it better.
    Here's how ---
Call, write, e-mail or personally call a company that interests you, introduce yourself and briefly explain your reason for contacting them. You can either ask your question, or several questions. I suggest several.
The question I think you should ask is what questions should you ask.
But, I think you'd receive more replies if you posted the question(s) in another thread. This thread pertains to one company in particular.
    Just my suggestion though.

There's a wealth of information to be found here.
Spend some time exploring and reading those of most interest to you.
I recommend makin' a healthy snack before gettin' started, there's a lot to read.
And, as an added bonus, you'll be learnin' more about the Big truck truckin' industry.
    What's not to like?

Thank you, I emailed them and they want originals of bc and ssc. A local place wants only the ssc; they are 4 weeks, the thing is i'm trying not to be bottom feed. Part time government contract ends Dec. 14 and I am going to school, working with the government, and currently separating myself from my pets to find an apartment for a short time.

    Thanks again.

Separating from your pets can't be easy.
Will it be a permanent separation?

Sounds like you have a lot on your plate.
    Do you have a family?

What is it that attracts you to Big truck truckin'?
Have you spent much time reading here or did you just find us?
Doesn't seem like you'd have an abundance of free time.

Yes, it will be a permanent separation; they are two ferrets I've had for five years.
I do not have a wife or children, mom is unable to assist with anything and my current
job at the USDA is over Dec. 14. Currently in a hotel spending work/finaid money for
living. Have been looking for a place.
The free time will be when I drop school and current job so the job doesn't run out on me.
Then I can drive the max freakin hours a day 7 days a week.

Like I said in one of my previous posts, CRE treats its company drivers better than their independent contractors. So frustrating.

The way my trainer put it, you don't work for England so much as have a persistent hostage negotiation with them, they have your time and money you have thier truck and fuel which is probably worth more than your time and money......that gives you the edge.

Problem is, when you lease you are now in a hostage negotiation with nothing on the table to bargin with and all the liability...so my trainers metaphor seems accurate, some of the best advice I ever got.
