On one of the inspections, I was taking my 34hrs reset break. Can I add the inspection at the end of the break or I have to restart my break again.
-
Technically you have to restart the break. You are on duty for an inspection, or at least the relevant part of it. Any (provable) interruption will break your 34.
-
I guess it depends on your level of involvement. If you were actively participating then you're starting your 34 over. If you said, "I'm off duty right now and unable to assist you, but you can come back later, or here are the keys, help yourself." Then you could add it later.
How does a person let themselves get inspected while on their 34? -
Parking on the wrong spot and as I have learnt saying no to a DOT trooper doesn't help at all.
-
What do you mean parking in the wrong spot?

Had PA state DOT try and wake me up a few times in rest areas long time ago. I just told them to come back when I was on duty and closed the window.

Salutations DOT advice personnel. I was wondering if you could help me with a concern of mine. Currently I'm heading to California and I have asked my company for chains a few times because I was going thru Donner Pass on I80 so then they re-routed me thru I40 so "I wouldnt need chains" although I looked at the Cali DOT chain requirement webpage (http://www.dot.ca.gov/hq/traffops/trucks/ops-guide/chains.html) and it seems as though I still will be going thru an area on I5 that chains are "sometimes required" ... I have read on here and many truckers have told me that even though the chain law is not in effect DOT can give me a ticket for not having them on the truck. If this is so I will appreciate any further information and a reference on where I can find the regulations on this matter (I can't find anything on this in the FMCSR pocket book.) Thanks again

If I'm empty and headed from my cons back home for the weekend, could I drive the 5 hours I have left on my 14 and then PC the other 2 hours home?

I thought "I can't believe they asked this" was in another thread? (a companion thread the DieselBear's)Scalemaster Thanks this.
