I'm from FL, so I'm used to it. When I was a company driver I kept it cooler, but it's my fuel now and I'd rather have the money than the ac.

Actually the idle policy verys depending on the time of the year now in July and August I recently found out its upto 40% per my DM as I was having a/c issues those months truck was in the shop twice each month for it. Would have been charged excess idle for July but since was in the shop they didn't charge me even though I was near 48%. They will work with you if you go over as long as its flat refusal to run and you sit and idle all day. If there's a reasonable reason why it's over they may not charge just explain to your DM and see if they will work with you.

I heard they weren't charging people this summer because it was so unbelievably hot. Not sure if that 40% is a normal thing, all my info said 30% for summer, 25% for not summer.
P.S. some companies have idle caps below 10% for winter months (with bunk heaters, but still) -

Hello all central drivers. I may be coming to the refresher course in a week or so. I am curious as to what the lease payments are on the trucks (FIXED COSTS)?
Do the truck's have APU's? -
don't be an idiot.

What is the average net amount, you lease guys from Central bring home? -
Not much more than a good company driver. Solo about $1000 to $1200 per week IF you get 3000 miles or more. Average is more like 2600 miles per week. So net maybe $800. Not worth the added risk. Been there done that, and yes I survived to tell about it. Like 6pak, I still have a few friends running there and only left just recently my self.

Well I make average $1100.00 weekly here at home in NY, on the dock, schleping freight with a forklift and I dont even need to use my CDL to do it. So apparently I will need to look for a company that provides better income.
