Pennsylvania is a study in irony since the tolls are wicked high yet they somehow lack the funds to fix their roads. The good news about PA is that you probably will not fall asleep behind the wheel thanks to the bouncing, shaking, and outright jarring ride you will get from their roads...truckon Thanks this.

A few years back the Philadelphia Inquirer did an indepth study of the PA turnpike and it was revealed that the tolls collected went to pay the salaries of all those employed by the turnpike commission... all the money for road maintenance came from federal funding..truckon and Maria Joseph Thank this.

Bad winters:
All of western CO, especially US 550
All of WY
I-84 in OR from Baker City to Pendelton

I-75 entering Michigan, ugh... goes from nice n' smooth then Michigan border - Special Kids Class Road Construction, next 30 miles.

i don't think wyoming is that bad. but 70 west of denver sure sucks. along with 84 from idaho to washington.
