Hello to all O/O. I just bought a used 2010 Freightliner in Austin,TX, and I live in Wilmington,DE. I am trying to have it delivered here and i know few drivers in my neighborhood that i can ask them to go and pick it up. My question is, how much should I be looking to pay someone to drive it here ? Please advise, thanks and sorry if I am wasting anyone's time.

Just a bobtail? Probably in the neighborhood of a buck a mile plus expenses, including fuel, tolls, etc.

Hey-If he has a class B he can bobtail.Since he bought it in Texas and it's going back to Deleware,he gets state permits to buy.If i were to take a truck that far i just bought,i'd put it on a truck and have it delivered. That expense has to be cheaper, easier and a whole lot less stressful than driving it.Especially if it were to break down on the way back.Just my thoughts.Take care.Brian

driving bobtail would be cheaper then having it hauled.

bobtail you only pay for fuel. and temp permit. and bobtail gets GREAT mileage compared to having a trailer.

vs. paying someone that'll probably want good money.

i bobtailed 2600 miles on one fill up to pick up a tank trailer the company bought. on the way back i was right back to 1400 miles per fillup.

Thanks for your input guys. My self I am still a student with CDL permit, that's why I can't go and pick it up, unless I go with a driver and I am sure it will cost us more.
