2006 freightliner shuts down automatically?

    My husband has a 2006 friehgtliner with a c7 cat engine, it has been shutting itself off while he is driving? He has had it in the shop 2x and spent 3000.00 on this truck when he gets it back it might run 2 days sometimes 4 then the same old thing? Any suggestions as to what might be wrong with this truck, it has the mechanic at freightliner stumped.

    my problem was a power wire from the starter to ecm. insulation was worn a little and wire was touching frame.

    electricals are a beech and can be anything. i spent 8 G before mine got fixed for free. becuase it didn't run at all after the engine was washed.
