You read that correctly. Engine year is typically one year behind truck year. There are however exceptions to every rule too.

As I have an 04 engine with 829k on it, I decided to look into buying an 07 or newer engine. Did my research and spoke with CARB- they said it is not a problem. But when I register my truck again, I have to do two seperate registration. Anyone heard of this? One is for the truck and other for the engine so I can roll freely in CA.

Are they trying to regulate themselves out of business?
-
I want to know how they are gonna enforce THAT.............. many trucks out of business. I still see non- CARB compliant reefers and about 50 10 year old trucks idling in truckstops every night. I don't see them getting rid of a million trucks at the stroke of midnight on / / (fill in the blanks).
-
They won't have to. We will do it our selves. With heavy set fines, people will be just afraid. Period! As far as idling about 4 months back on the east side TA in Ontario, about 40 dot p/u trucks swarmed the truck stop at about 100ish am. I was fueling up and saw more tickets issued than I could imagine. 300 first time fine and then ranges from 1k-10k.

47 other states that don't have Commiefornia's ridiculous rules!

We've had 3 trucks burn to the ground that have been retrofitted with aftermarket REGEN systems, 1 of them when it was parked in the middle of night. They had to replace it (the Ins. Co.) with a brand new 2011 International.
My Volvo Has Broken down so many times ive lost count and I have had it since new! But it is a Volvo after all -
So all of those tens of thousands of people who work run every day and live there are just going to lay down on / / /?
-
Why would Swift, Knight, and the rest of the companies who paid to have this legislation passed and fought in court just stop running their brand new trucks in California?
Do you not see what this is all about? There are thousands of brand new trucks with $0.32 CPM steering wheel holders just waiting to take over where O/O's are regulated out of.
"Ports overflowing with containers"? LOL. There hasnt been a non-DPF truck in a California port in years, I dont see them overflowing, I see Swift and Knight trucks hauling them.
