I need to get ramps for a step deck trailer to load vehicles, 2 axle trucks like tank trucks, fire trucks etc. Can anyone recommend a good quality ramp and what I should be looking out for. The average weight of these Trucks will be 20000 pound. Any advise would be appreciated, thank you.

I got mine from discountramps.com. I got the 20" wide ramps, and although the extra width is nice they are heavy and awkward to move around at 94 lbs/ pc. I would consider the 16" wide ramps @ 74 lbs/pc if I bought again.
SHC Thanks this. -
Need or want?

There is a company in Jacksonville, FL that makes ramps. I believe the company is called Landsport. They should have what you want or need.

I have a set of 16ft long ramps/levelers first off you get them for the drop your deck has I have never used all 4 of my ramps at the same time (6 years I never have)they just ride on my top deck and most of the times they get in the way now. When I first got mine a was paid $50.00 every time I pulled them out but them days are over. If you have a use for them they are good to have but if not don't wast your time most shippers have loading docks even when they ask for ramps most the time I don't have to use them. Don't think loads are going to pay anymore because you have them atleast I don't get anymore money
There is 3 different company's that make them all run about the same price and are build the same so shipping is high on them so I picked one that was a place I could stop buy and get mine and also they make 25,000lb ramps now and most kits run around $2,700 -

Dogcather:
I have to agree. I also got my ramps from Discount ramps out of Wi. I built my own rack for them between my spread. I use all 4 quite often and usually get extra 750-100 bucks each time.
Kinda weird, that I'll use them twice a week for a month, then not use them for couple months.
I actually bought them for load levelers and only use as load levelers couple times a year but as ramps probably 15 times a year.
I did get the brackets to use all 4 ramps as levelers and never need more than 2 levelers. I'd love to sell the extra brackets.
All said and done, it's a great investment if your really into vehicles.
If money is tight, you could start with just two ramps. We do alot of Milatary vehicles which only reqires 2 of the 4 ramps. -
Having a stepdeck without Ramps is like havin a shirt without a pocket a old timer told me, I don't go around telling everyone they cost $100 to pull them out.....I do a lot of ltl picking up a car for $600 over $600 miles then my main load is profit.....everyone uses them differently
-
I don't move LTL freight I'm not saying I don't use them I'm saying I don't use all 4 at the same time in fact mine are from two different company's I use them for levelers more than I use them for ramps I was just saying I wouldn't spend the money on the full kit I would only get the two ramps with the leveler stands and call it done!!
