That is great advice, but as Pedigreed said, about the time you think you see what you want something new comes out. I see this with my ITT Tech son all the time with computers. Of course that changes out faster than a infants diaper it seems. :smt046

My company runs about 99% Volvo 780 sleepers. Most have Volvo VED12 and 13 engines. Here's my impression so far:
    Pros:
The VED engines return great fuel economy numbers.
    Can you say roomy?
    Rides super smooth.
The controls are really user friendly.
    Storage upon storage.

    Cons:
Be prepared to shift a lot, the VED can be a dog on hills, don't let it lug below 1200 when on a hill.
Parts can be hard to find anywhere other than Volvo
The nice air ride often dies thanks to a rather flimsy design of the leveling valve arm. Fortunately an under $130 repair at Petro/TA

I have heard Volvos are the smoothest riding trucks on the road. However the downside to them is if something goes wrong with it nobody has the parts for them. So the driver of one could be sitting around for days or weeks till the part or parts arrives.

Easy Kate ! get some time and then you can jump off that roof and land on your feet. I know the Volvo's are nice that's my favorite also. Keep doing what your doing and one day you will just write a check for it and it will be yours. another way to think of a lease is you borrowed it and have to pay to maintain it then you have to give it BACK.

It's a cute idea tho..... innocent. Wish it was that simple to just load the best friend in your new prefered truck and sign here........ "Uhm call us when you reach the West Coast please".........

The world can use more simplicity.............

Sounds terrible when you put it that way, but I suppose that's the REAL truth of it.

So many things. Gah! The impetuousness of youth! Or at least the impetuousness of someone who has found a truck they like!

I guess like most of us, when you get into something you want to collect all the pieces. it is hard to just say "nope, don't need that."

You all are right. Get a lot of experience then think about "buying" something.

    Trucks are expensive.
