Knight Transportation

Sorry , I do not tell "trucker stories" this was all fact ! It really upset me because allwe did to help the 2 other drivers & then they just said NO ! WHATEVER !

 

Personally, I think the story sounds real, but how do the two drivers explain their damage to their companies without filing a claim? Especially the one whos' tractor was struck?
Were they both really dumb Owner/Operators who don't have to answer to anyone but their own insurance company when paying the deductable?

I can easilly believe that the one struck in just the trailer, kept his/her mouth shut and just passed the damaged trailer onto the next sorry s.o.b. in their company....happens more than you know.

 

This happened @ the "J" in Davenport , Iowa - the driver he backed into (Swift) was in the next to an end spot , Knight tried getting the end spot . If you know this truck stop , the second row off the pumps ends about 5 spots shorter then the front row . He pulled past Swift & lined his trailer up about 1/3 from the front of the Swift trailer , then backed straight up , never turned the steering wheel . He (Knight) backed straight into Swift trailer about 15 feet from its front on a 90 degree angle ! I shouted at the Knight driver 3 times on the CB , but of coarse he did not have his on ! Now , afraid the Swift driver was in the truck , he tried to get away unseen . My wife & I already took a bunch of photo's & I was now standing behind the Knight driver taking more Photo's . Knight pulled straight forward to the center drive & tried a left turn , but he turned right after his trucked cleared the last truck inline side-swiping his(Knight) trailer all the way down ! Afraid now that this driver was in his truck , Knight backed-up & tried again , still did not work , as Knight did the same thing side-swiping the same trailer a second time ! Then Knight put it in reverse & backed-up about 10 feet & then drove straight to the end of the parking lot , turning right & going to the back row , crosssed the entire lot to the driveway & out onto the street & down to Interstate 80 turned going west ! After talking with the 2 drivers Knight hit & showing them both the photo's they agreed to call the cops . By the time the cops arrived , they both decided to just drop it . Maybe they talked to thier dispatchers or not ! I know they talked to Knight's dispatcher , which at first denied even having a trailer with the numbers on it that we had in pictures ! I know this should have started out ( You ain't never goin' to believe this one) !!! Thats how it happened ! Believe it or not !!!

 

I would've procecuted him for hit & run...I don't care who it is...there's NO way that driver didn't know he hit something....
