    Why, oh Why, oh Why, can no one at Stevens leave voice mails when they call??? Never fails, we go in the truckstop for bfast, dinner, a shower, anything and they call both of our phones, but don't leave a message!!! (we don't take the phones in so that we can have a peaceful meal, etc. Nothing worse for digestion than getting a call for a repower, then an argument if you tell them it doesn't make good business sense!)

    Day five with trainer of 5 week otr training. 793.4 miles, one mountain done. Now waiting in Fredrichsburg Tx for Opa's smoked meats to open (tomorrow @ 0630 hrs). :biggrin_25518:

    On time and a day early. Parked in Walmart for today.

    Learning to use Qualcomm and do trip planning. And when does backing get easier, especially at the docks?

    Actually I overheard a DOT inspector call them this a few years ago when a CRST truck had taken down a light pole at the Port of Entry in WY.

    Your not to terribly far from me. This is the second time since I started this company that Im doing a 34 restart on the road. Im in San Antonio and will be headed to Victoria and McAllen tomorrow.

    As far as backing, it will come in time. Be patient. Stay on the trainer about letting you back any time the truck needs to go backwards. Neither of my trainers let me back much at all and I failed my backing test going into grad fleet. Luckily I passed it the next day. I found that once I was solo, backing was much easier and the only place that I remember any problems was Kraft in Bethlehem, PA. Hunts point isnt near as bad as they tell you at the yard. Its just a little tight.

    Never been to Ralphs in Compton? That may be the worst I have seen... the rainbow wall.

    #### #### hell... I think I am going to be overweight when I hit Arkansas... Scaled in Laredo with half tank... 79980... not much wiggle room, so I figue I'll just do the 80 gal shuffle... drive till red light comes in, Hillsboro Tx, scheduled Optistop... instead of the recommended 150 I take on 80 only... that part works out great, I am sitting in Mt Vernon TX and tank is about half full and still have 89 miles to the scale... the problem is my ####### filled the refer too... this came out if Mexico and the tank was just below 1/4... so uinstead ofbjust adding a few gsllons, I filled the #### thing up and never gave a thought to the weight. I will scale again in the morning at the Flying J at exit 12 in AR and see where I stand, but I may be doing some back tracking and out of route miles to burn off enough fuel to get legal...

    I think that I have been to Compton but Ralphs doesnt ring a bell. Maybe Sams Club?
