I've never had an issue. Actually, I find the interior of the sleeper to be somewhat comforting. Less territory to defend, if it comes down to it.

Hi East bay Al,
I have had this experience in a school room dorm with cinderblock walls and then again in a truck with a mentor. What can help is to sleep close to the air vent or window. My first few nights in a dorm were unbearable. I learned that sleeping near a fan that provided fresh or highly circulated air currents helped solve it 90%. You'll need fresh air and in a truck it might come from the little vent the sleeper should have. That nearby access to the air conditioning or outside air will calm you down so you don't feel trapped. Then, use your imagination to fall asleep to get through the night. You might read up on certain visualations you might try that you can find online to help induce sleep. Once you fall asleep you'll survive the bout and then do it again the next day. Also, try to spend the least amount of time in the truck that you can during down time or detensions etc. If your at a terminal give your co-driver/mentor etc some space for your own good. If you hang out in the sleeper during times when you can go inside a truck stop or terminal lounge you'll increase the claustrophobia. Good luck. -
Thanks for the information. Hoping i wasn't the only one .. Will have to grin & bear it.

Before I started using CPAP, I would wake up occasionally and feel claustrophobic as I choked for air. But as a rule, no. I'm in the same camp as brisms up there (though I have no clue what that says about me!
