Hi Captain. Been following your thread and enjoying it. I'm happy to say I went to orientation with Dart in Dallas this week and will start with my trainer Monday here in Houston. I'm a student driver, just obtained my CDL after school. After training I'll be going with Dartco, the fleet company for OTR. Keep up the thread!

Good luck Harris; the Dartco thing is an excellent move for a new driver. Am curious about how the training goes--maybe you should start your own thread. Sorry can't post as often now (no more smartphone so at the mercy of WiFi). Let us know, and again, best of luck!

Hey HarrisTX, how's it going with Dartco? I'm very impressed with them so far and looking to sign on like you did, right out of school. The pay and equipment looks good. Not sure if they're going to throw me enough miles OTR tho. Any info would be helpful. Thanks

I just applied for the same gig, but asked for a 2013 630. Let's see what happens. Seems like the current lease-purchase posterboy (ACT) doesn't hire in NY, so let's see if these guys have anything to tell me.

Seems that Dart is overall fair and its a driver's own sabotage that corrupts himself? My main question at this point is
Lease/Purchase vs Company Driver? I read older posts and the "BAD" truck companies section....hmm
Im a balanced sort and get both sides....So at the least Dart has a LEGIT L/P

DartCo is a cool place to work at. They once paid me $600.00 for layover at a shop that was right near my house. The shop told me to wait in the driveway and forgot about me for about 2 days.
Now as far as owner operator pay well I would take home from 0-200-250-300 a day with my own truck.
Also they got kinda worn out with my breakdowns and would grumble from time to time but would help.
Older truck owners are gonna find themselves becoming as valuable as an old ussd tampon at many of these companies including Dart which no longer sells Colombia's.
I called Dart looking for one of those 999 dollar deals and they no longer have em.
I may go back this month I think my family at FX no longer wants my love but its all good because I love em anyways because God told me to!
    So there!!!. :)
