Keyster, I agree with you on your point of protecting yourself, my point was to always remember that trucking is not Vegas, what happens here does not always stay here. Just for everyone to be aware that there are downsides to having the camera in the cab and to be aware of all your actions that may be recorded.
protect yourself with a dashcam !

Got dash cams in my vehicles and my truck..I only use the cams when im driving. Other then that I dont need or require a 24/7 cam.
-
i see a lot of driver are saying it can go against us ....
i have one sing to say. i prefere to assume my action if i made a misstake, than to have to suffer the consequences of the action of another driver. it would be just fair if you are really responsable, but really unfair if the driver who hit you claim that you made the misstake and nothing to show he is wrong .
i see so many driver cutting RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME when i am driving and hitting the break the second after. if this hapen and at the end , police see a truck in the back of a car, who gonna be in trouble .... or maybe fire?
with the camera you go from fired because of preventable accident, to non preventable accident and still have your job -

This is the way it appeared before this post. I thought I could protect myself by purchasing a booba92EZ. Sounds like something Ronco would come up with.... -

George Orwell wrote two books that were required reading when I was young. Animal Farm and 1984. They were written as cautionary tales warning about big governments and people controlling our lives. I think some folks read the books and said, "Gee, that sounds like a good idea."
If my word on what happened is not good enough then time has come to go into another business. -
Pretty (amazing, scary, freaky....pick one or three) about those two books. I read them two, probably 20-some years ago.
"Cautionary" indeed. -
I think you still dont know what Im talking about. We will go off your example of driver cutting in front of you...ok. If the video shows you speeding 5-15 mins before contact with the driver. Then it was PREVENTABLE, because you would not be at the accident scene if you didnt speed up in the manner that YOUR video shows. You have to be ready to present more of the video before the point of contact if you want to use the dashcam video. Always remember, its a double-edge sword. You have to walk the chalk if youre gonna point fingers at someone elses guilt. Just a little FYI...Be safe out there drivers.Last edited: Oct 15, 2012

You know if you drive properly the chance that you will have an accident is very minicule. The only value I can see in having a camera or as Jim does camera's is :
1) You are in having a shower, lunch, getting coffee whatever to have video security for your truck.
2) You do what Jim does and make little video's of roads and nice country to share with family and friends.HwyPrsnr and T...Street Thank this.
