HWYPRSNR & T-Street, I started driving long before qualcom and cell phones and all the other incab distractions that assault your senses on a daily basis. I think the camera has it's place, but the driver needs to remember that it will not only show what the other driver has done, but it will also show what the truck driver has done and this can come back to haunt any driver. There is not a driver out there regardless of experience that does not make some type of mistake everyday. This is not a criticism of any driver or of all drivers, it is just a fact of life, we are human and we all make mistakes.
Drivers have to understand that they may think that they are safe because the camera does not show there speedometer, but the technoloy is out there that by picking landmarks out of the video they can figure out your speed. So the point being if you are involved in an incident regardless if the other driver has caused the incident if you were speeding you are also partially responsible. Just the facts of life in trucking in this day and age. -
I could not agree more tank4life, There is no replacement for driving defensively and always paying attention. We have become so dependent on technology these days that the art of finessing ( read driving a truck) through bad weather and less than perfect traffic conditions is becoming lost. I know that we all have to be able to accept change in everything...but give me a 3406-b set at 2350 and a 15sp and 355's and I'll be a happy camper.
HwyPrsnr Thanks this. -
Exactly tank and T. Too many drivers now-a-days rely TOO much on too many gadgets and not enough on themselves. Personal responsibility woks best. And like I have said in many other threads. Defensive Driving...Defensive Driving...Defensive Driving. There is NO other substitute. Be safe out there drivers.

If your talking about theft, that's one thing. If your talking about accidents, It doesn't matter whose fault it is. It still messes up your record.
