Now let me get this straight..... Your (were) wanting another strike or talking about another strike in 2011?

You boys had your chance when fuel shot up but no one......well a few did,me included..would get off their #####. I begged for you to take a stand against all of the BS we as truckers had to endure but you turned a blind eye to the problem. I asked that if you would not do it for yourself at least do it for your family but you were happy with, just getting by.

It's to late for this now BS now.You had your chance before when fuel hit $5.00. You had your chance to unite other drivers with the one thing everyone could agree on but not enough of you cared to do what was needed........

So dont start ######## about this now.You made your bed,now LAY IN IT!

I dont blame you for wanting to shut this down. It is well that you think this way, BUT, the corps are taking your places. This is trully a war between Corporations, and Independents. AND, IT IS NOT JUST TRUCK DRIVERS. IT IS THE ENTIRE UNITED STATES. Fact is, people believe they can become a little g god, and force things to take place. This is not Christian thinking, but the opposite. NOW please, dont get me wrong, I dont like what they have done either. One guy says to himself, Im going to be a little g god today, and gets out of bed, and orders up a war for the whole country to pay for... Worse than that, they have an entire United Nations that does the same dam thing. So please, dont think i sit and not want to take some sort of action, but the right action yes. Fact is, long ago, the catholic church ordered the united nations closed, and that all christians were not to unite with such a presense as them. But, what happened instead, were fakers stood in place, making the claims that they were what they were not... After all, is that not what politics is? Just a bunch of promise keepers that dont keep their promises... Now what you have, is the US politicians disobeying their own laws, and believe me, they passed a law for gas gouching, back when the oil man bush was in office... Anotherwords, it is possible for the president, to order fines to those corporations that over inflate the prices of the fuel. And its time everyone faces the truth on this, that they want to pay for all their computers, all their alien vessels that fly on other fuels than the fuel your used to, and everything else they have created, all at the cost of the taxpayer. That includes, bailing out banks, and building banks in other countries. Anotherwords, you have been scammed yes. The only way to close a government, is to order them to change, shut down, or to shut them down. Of course, that would mean a war. For they in fact have taken the taxpayers money, and squandered it all over the world, at the cost of our own nation. Even in politics, there has to be prudence applied to what is right from wrong. None of the political field even addresses the problem of the computer, nor the cost for operating the dam thing. That in itself, is insanity. So how in the world could they the dot gov, get on the internet publicly, and expect to pay for the security against hackers, to keep the country safe. It is insanity what is left. That is the fact of it. And the only real way to stop the insanity, is to admit to the truths. One of those truths, is that the goverment system was not meant to handle programming issues of a computer in a court of law. So Obama says, tax the #### out of the rich, because he is watching the court system being tied up with law suits of who programmed what page on the internet, and who does that page belong to. Example is Google, Yahoo, and ebay Pay Pal issues. They all fight in the courts everyday now with their spoiled rotten attitudes of i made that page, its mine... This is not the America I did grow up with, nor could it ever be. And I do know, how the truck driver feels, when he cannot pay for it. Not to mention, all the small businesses of the world. Yes, Time has come to order down those fuel prices, and a few other things as well. After all, if were going to be fined for using a word in the dictionary, which is no different than using a script of programming, then we may as well right off the entire goverments brains. For beleive me, they are not thinking. Not to mention, doing anything according to their own laws. Yes, time to make the donuts was and is long overdue. For they fly in the skys over you now, with things that travel at 6 times the speed of sound, running on that wonderful hydrogen fuel. And they are using the taxpayers money to pay for it all, charging you at the pump for such things. In reality, they need to be harnessed, and controled, until they can learn to control themselves. The United States is not the savior of the world. It cannot be, and because so many of these evil politicians that just care about their own pocket, instead of what is best for the people, they make all kinds of laws against the US constitution, that actually prevent economics, example, Spam , yes, its against the freedom of speech. And it stops others from seeing what the other has to offer them. And all because of all these problems mentioned in the blog. The answer is not new laws, but to remove them, the ones that are hurting the truth of economy. They can start, by telling Google and Yahoo, to get out of the court rooms. And the rest of the evil world that thinks, freedom of information has to be run with a thing called copyright. Talk about two faced. Thats twofaced. ITS Save your own hide day no doubt. Strike,, but also do what you must to make it all run without what is robbing you. however it has to take place. I am not one for liking war. But as you can see, nothing has happened to reverse the economic problem. And they, do not imply the fines to the oil companies, while the world sits at home without jobs. If you want reality, just punch in the search engine, google steals currency, and see what comes up. Honestly, if you dont strike em, you will be the splitting image of the rest of google. And, we shall see, who goes to heaven. For to you guys that want to look the other way, Get out of my US Constitution, you have no right to be here.

I agree with you but I think we should strike on 2013 Drivers Appreciation Week to send a message. Drivers appreciate week was BS. Like you said, the people outside of this industry have no idea how we are treated. For those of you who think that we are cry babbies, we are trying to do this for all of us. Those of you that moved on to a better job and pay thats great, be selfish and just think of yourself and don't bother responding. There is more topics than you are aware of than just low pay. When it starts to affect you then maybe you'll see the light and wake up from your dream.

I agree we should strike, some of these truckers think there being treated fairly. There are many topics to STRIKE about that these guys are not aware of. Some of the topics are below so you can educate yourself about the trucking industry and whats going to happen in the future. All of these impact your bottom line.

    1) low paying companies - a decent wage, not a slave wage.
    2) FMCSA - Hours of service changes rules, EOBR mandates,
    3) high fuel prices
    4) low speeds in CA, OR, WA

    Gasienica Thanks this.

In the first place you are not going to get big trucking companies to go along with this, they
operate on volume and then when they need help with the loads they seek out independent owner
operators and pay these owner opeators pennies on the dollar. Right now there are more owner
operators than big trucking companies. Pretty soon it will not be that way The owner operators are
the ones that stand to gain the most or lose the most and as some of the other comments state they did
a strike and lost their truck, homes, etc. It is not a strike we need, it is every owner operator standing
up and saying I will not haul a load from anyone for less than $2.00 a mile. I delivered a good paying
load for one of my customers to Miami the other day. Was looking for a load back to central florida,
out of 5 loads I called they wanted to pay $200 - $225 and most of them delivered the next day.
this is less than a $1.00 a mile, the want me to store their crap overnight and drag my driver out
the next morning to deliver for $225. I don't think so, but I guarantee you some one picked those
loads up and brought them central florida. THis is called a gridlock and the brokers and companies stick
together but what happens if we say no and leave sit on the docks, then who has the gridlock? You need
members, organization and a website operated on a daily basis to keep members informed of what is
happening, it would be a big undertaking but I am sure there are truckers, out there who have the
origanzational skills to handle this. I am better off than most truckers my equipment is paid
for except for one trailer, but I still have insurance bills to pay, fuel bills, maintenance and repair bills.
Listen up folks don't take loads anywhere in the United States for less than $2.00 a mile. If you happen to
get in an area that is not paying $2.00 a mile sit there or venture out until you find a load paying good money
and pick up the load even if you have to dead head out, especially in Florida. People in America do not realize
they have control, they just have to exercise it and stand together. You have sent people from each state to
represent you. Are they doing a good job, I don't think so, and the people of this country should stand together
and say we have had enough, no more spending our tax dollars on helping out failing banks, insurance companies,
green energy, bailing out the car industry. Has the industries ever given you a break when you were failing, I dont
think so and sending our money to countries that hate the americans is enough to curl my hair and then we go
fight other countries wars for them with no payment from them for our efforts. Americans are losing their
homes by the thousands and the government is doing nothing and don't tell me they have programs in place
to help they don't that is just another cover up for banks swindling the american people. We are 5 M strong and
we let 500+ congressman and senators whom are elected officials tell us what we are going to do. Americans
have no backbone any more. OOIDA is a pretty good organization, but all owner operators need to start an organization
and join and elect representatives that can organize us, set up daily communication and go to Washington to represent
us the owner operators (and I am not talking unions) and we all need to agree unanimously that things need to change
and agree to work peacefully to change things. Like agreeing to ban together and not deliver to California because of
their overzealous regulations, like not hauling loads out of states such a Florida that do not pay a decent mileage rate.
It will be hard but it can be done because of the numbers game. Just like if all owner operators picked one fuel company
to boycott for two months and buy their fuel and gas with other companies - what do you think would happen? That's
right prices would start going down. Americans are going after Walmart for more money and benefits, what do you think
would happen if owner operators stood behind those people and boycotted Walmart - You cut someone's livelihood, you can
get results, it is called banning together and getting the message across. We would have political clout as we would be a
big voting block. Right now owner operators have the clout - its called numbers. They need to organize and use it.

I'm taking a vacation from end of march to beginning of second week in April. My bday and my mini me bdays that week. Convenient that's when it happens every year. I always park my truck.

Only need little more then 50% to stop and everyone will feel it in some way or another. Save your pennies now to take that week of if you have to or worries about $.
