Tanker/hazmat : Excellent pay per annum. Prefer OTR because, usually deliver to chemical plants, refineries, etc. and simply put, just hook up a couple of hoses, turn a pump on and wait about an hour or so & ready to go. Loading done by shipper. Many times receiver unloads. With hazmat delivery, usually deadhead back to terminal & still get paid the same per mile(was company driver). I've hauled many, many loads from the East Coast to Washington, Oregon, California, Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico, etc., then take 1-1/2 hours to unload then deadhead back to East Coast. That was driving for Tankstar (Tankstar.com). Second preference & second best money was reefer, coast-to-coast & border-to-border.

van. no climbing up on tankers or flat beds in winter with snow and ice on them. no dragging chains or hoses, some of those hoses are heavy, thru snow to a hook-up.
I open the doors, bump the dock,go lay down. no,I don't help load or unload. company doesn't allow it,insurance reasons. we aren't covered as dock workers.

less money yes, but I'm getting a little old for all that four letter word stuff, (WORK).lol

I liked tankers. You get to get out of your truck and actually do some work and get in a little bit of exercise after a long drive. Pay is better, and most of the time, you're in and out of the shipper/reciever in no time. No waiting 2 hrs for someone else to load/unload you.

Lowboy, just about anything oversize. Challenging loads, unusual circumstances, and I don't mind dragging the chains around.
