Aside from USDOT, what might be a good resource to consult for industry statistics and analysis? My keywords aren’t doing it for me here.

Some that I am particularly interested in are:

    1. Volume of freight shipped by rail vs. OTR.

    2. Recent (1-5 years) data on total shipped volume, by sector (manufacturing, construction, retail, etc.).

    3. Leading industry sectors, by region.

    4. Total miles carried by small o/o vs. national carriers.

I’d also like to see what trucking industry prognosticators have to say about future trends, sectors to watch for growth, etc.

Looking thru the latest copy of Trucker newspaper (thetrucker.com), I did find this among the proprietary studies cited: DOT's Bureau of Transportation Statistics, http://www.bts.gov

    tdsingletree Thanks this.
