Well guys, looks like I won't be joining up just yet. Problem with an accident I had almost three years ago. Not able to come on until it's 3 years old. Bottom Feeder Inc, err I mean C.R. England, is my only option right now. And just an FYI, in Idaho you do not have to have a medical card to get a learners permit for class a cdl. Going to go get training at BFI, then when I have enough experience I'll come join the Prime family.

Part Time Thanks this.

Does Prime still charge company drivers to use the APU units in their Trucks?
-
-
OK, thanks. I had heard that from a friend that was told by a recruiter from Prime that Company Drivers were charged $45.00 per week for APU usage. Didn't think that was right.

Considering becoming Company Driver for Prime myself. May be in Springfield next week.

Hi, I looked into joining prime a month ago and a recruiter told me that I don't qualify because I have not been employed over the last 8 months. I am new to trucking and want my CDL and Prime seems to be a good company. I told her that I have been unemployed and I can provide proof if they need it. She told me it doesn't matter. They require you to be working at least 8 months. I said, so basically your saying that you don't hire people who are unemployed based on that policy. She said "Yes, that is correct". I couldn't belive it!! I'm just wondering if any of you Prime drivers can explain to me about this policy? Is this for real? I still cant believe this is a policy??

Self Intro
Hi all I have been reading various forums for the last couple of days. I am deployed with the Army right now and I have less than a year to go before they put me out with 17 years under my belt. I have been researching companies and ran into this forum. If someone could give me a no B/S asessment of the three companies that offer CDL schools. Prime Inc., Pam and Swift. It would seem from what I have read that Prime is the best one to go with. I have no interest in leasing but want to be a company driver. I live in Tennessee if anyone has anything on hometime in that area. Thanks. -
So I hope to be back at Prim in a few weeks I was sent home to take a sleep study. But my question is there any trainers on here that are not in it for the extra $$$$ but want to train a new guy fresh out of school ?
