Ok just a 18 update... day three of week one. Passed medical, four out of five tests at DPS. The class is thinning but moving forward. Should charge up the hill tomorrow. Suddenly the whole movie "We were soldiers" just flashed through my mind. Anyway off to do more reading, gotta learn the logs. feeling stoked.
nascarchuck Thanks this. -
You must stand up for yourself. Tell them no. It's your time.
(you could tell them you've overindulged with adult beverages and don't qualify
)
Seriously, tho. Others are right. They don't care. If you go for it, you only solve their problem made by their management process.
I was 'talked to' recently because I failed to procure enough repowers in a shift. When I pointed out there were no viable candidates available, they asked if I had called a couple drivers that were on home time. I told them "no. I don't disturb hometime."
I was reprimanded for that, whereby I told them if they want to call, it's their business. I won't. If they don't like it, I'll go elsewhere.
End of conversation.
But all they care about is getting their butts out of a sling at the moment.TLeaHeart, nascarchuck, Corporal_Clegg and 3 others Thank this. -
They tried that with me too. I told them that I will be back on Thursday as I had told them when I requested the time off. They left me alone after that.

Thanks Trkrshoney!!!! Don't you worry I will get in writing
Thanks again and be safe out there god bless.....
TRKRSHONEY Thanks this. -
They tried that stunt on my first couple of home times... I said no... then it became hell no. Then I just refused to answer the phone if the caller ID said Stevens. I always returned on the day and time I said I would be available.
Management does not care about the driver, or getting the driver home, or letting the driver enjoy their very limited home time.
Good for you Emulsified, to NOt call drivers on home time.Dieselten77 and TRKRSHONEY Thank this. -
My old old DM paid me $150 to grab an abandoned truck and move it to a secure location 5 miles down the road while i was on time off. Point is, SHOW ME THE $$$! If youre not going to make it worth my time, I will not come out while on time off...
Finally moved to the Kraft "Bakers Run" dedicated. Guess they only run a few states (Il, In, Oh, Mi?) and 34's at home during the weekends? Well, that was what I was told so not figuring that any of it will actually happen, lol. Takes nothing to try it out i guess. More info to come...TRKRSHONEY Thanks this.
