I'm curious about what tires you guys use on your one tons and why. It's about time for a new set for my truck and looking for your input on a new set. Thanks in advance for your words of wisdom.

I like Firestone HT. They seem to ware well, but do only have "OK" traction in snow when half gone or so.
I have Michelin right now. They are real nice. Good traction, quiet, and they claim to help fuel mileage. I'm not sure of that.
I,m not sure I'll get enough extra miles to justify the extra cost though.

    SHC Thanks this.

I don't pull RV's but did a lot of wrecker service and also farming and they seemed to hold up the best. My choice would be the Goodyear Wrangler Silertarmor's. Being you run out of Goshen, you need the traction for snow/ice. I was able to get around 60k miles out of mine on a Ram 3500HD doing road/field work and they never got a hole. A little noisy in the beginning, but after about 5k miles, they get quiet

Michelin's have harder rubber and tend to be impervious to gravel damage. Wranglers are good. We had a set on the back of our UD1800 tow truck. Good traction but softer. They squish. Was like the difference between regular duels and super singles as far as ride. I've used General tires on cars for years. Good little performance tire. I'd say they are somewhere in between and hold up well for the price. Never ran a General truck tire though.
