Will have my CDL A soon and there are two jobs I want, I want to drive for an oil field with the camps and/or I want to drive for the diamond mines in Alaska. Do you guys know any companies that do either for a rookie to join?

You have a snow ball's chance in heck in landing either of those two jobs with a new CDL. Go out and prove yourself and get some experience and then consider it.

ps:It looks really sexy and fun on tv>not so in real life!

There are currently no commercial diamond mines in Alaska, or the United States. There is a dig-for-fee mine operating in Arkansas however

    Try google.
Call Chamber of Commerce in Williston, ND
Check driveffe.com (they do oil field tanker work in Texas.)

Usually, but not always, tanker/hazmat companies require previous OTR experience; if no luck finding tanker work right off, go reefer OTR for awhile.

Maybe drive reefer for FFE and then switch over to their tanker division later. They have 2 terminals in California.
Check Navajo.com for reefer work - have a terminal in Chino, CA.
    Check www.artransport.com/driveropp.asp (2 CA terminals) (.48 cpm)

Can do online applications with these companies.

Take it step by step & you will reach your goal.

Might need to watch Ice Road Trucks some more lol. The diamond mines are in Canada and Alaska has the natural gas stations. I only watched up to season 3 but the main company that hires for the Ice Road in Alaska requires a minimum of 2 years OTR with a lot of Winter and mountain driving experience.

Do you know how I can sign up? War zone driving, just what I'm looking for.
