    Gimme a break.....

Being a Driver, is one of the ONLY JOBS where you're expected to 'show up to work' (be ready to work). (speaking from OTR point of view). And not get paid.
Because, sorry Driver Freight is light today.
Or they (co) force you to take a load into a known bad area/black hole where you know you wilo have to sit..And not get paid.

I agree, but until someone on our side gets some media attention and starts making the government do something about our issues and/or drivers unite, nothing's gonna change. It's a sad world where an essential part of society's cog is being treated this way. I am a firm believer that as a driver we should get paid to wait, heck thats among a.secretary, waiter and a store clerks' primary duties; waiting. But those jobs for the most part get less gross pay than we do and thats why it'll b an uphill struggle for a long time to come. This and let's not forget that as long as we have senator's and other government officials benefiting from the trucking money pot, that they will do everything in their power to keep things how they are. Truckers have a gloomy future ahead, so the turnover is just an offspring of common sense for some ...

this is why i changed my mind about driving trucks. at least OTR, i have a class B cdl and was getting ready to upgrade to the A, but after reading this website and all the nonsense with companies i decided screw that. i got a mortgage to pay and cant afford having a company jerk me around with my paycheck, way too much stress, i would be very liable to drive to an office and lay a major beating on someone screwing with my check whether it was being short changed or fuel etc, i know there are great companies out there but finding one is the headache im all set with. so i stuck with my job i have, i haul milk to grocery stores, work 6-8 hours a day on salary, 2 days off a week, flexible schedule, get home around 2pm.

In my opinion you chose wisely. The grass isn't always greener on the other side kids!
