It seems like i always post something about the trucks i drive, so here is a new post:
When i was otr i have freightliner century, the truck didnt lean rarely on slanted hills. Now im local and in day cab. I drive 98' volvo VNM64T when im on interstates and there are slants and mini moguls in the highway my truck leans alot to the side. Now i knpw its the highway but it scares me a little. It doesnt look like the trailer leans though. I dont drive faster than the limit, its most 5-10 mi under anyways. My question is:
Is this normal for a day cab to lean?
I heard that bc the wheel base is smaller than otr trucks, that it doesnt ride smoother and leans alot. Is this true and is there a reason to be concerned in my particular case?

The bags are still inflated. I dont knpw what im looking for on the shocks. And dunno where cab mounts are. Are cab mounts the metal frame work?

I have hendrickson rear suspension (23k) , no air cab and a 30 foot leaf spring flatbed ...
i bet you still have air cab on yours ?dirtjersey Thanks this. -
Yea, but i post this to see if this is normal for day cab
-
i guess , whats your wb lenght on the truck ?
-
It should not lean as you described. I think you have a bad airbad-shock on one side of the cab.(the back of the cab)
I had one go bad on my truck. It still was inflated but the shock inside was bad. They replaced both sides and man what a difference. -
O wow i will check that out thx. The other driver told me the same thing. Hlw do you check those out to see of they are good or bad?
-
On mine i noticed i could stand next to the truck and rock the cab back and forth with one hand.
Then i checked one of our other trucks, same year and model and found it did not rock back and forth half as much as mine.
The shop found the one side bad,I guess it is like a shock inside the air bag.
Not sure how they really check them. -
yea check cab shocks on the back of the cab. i had two blow out in my columbia daycab. the thing rode like a bag of .... and the shop refused to fix it. i could grab the airline brace/ bracket/slider thing and completely rock the truck up and down. cross bronx expressway was pure tourture. dirtyjerz who u drivin for?
