Spend some time searching & reading the Roehl website: http://www.roehl.net/. It is definitely one of the more comprehensive one's out there. It will answer many questions (& help you formulate more). Even posts the mileage pay rates!

Question regarding the forum: how do you know when a new "Roehl-related" thread has started? Or even more generic, how do you follow any new threads?

    Thanks!

after a while being on it you'll see new topics started by different people. You'll know which thread has the original post. And following it on the right it says he posted last and if it changes then see what someone else is doing or posted. Or thanked you or answered one of your questions. Some take off and others fizzle out. I'm on it a lot especially on the road to kill time until I get a tv.

    Nottoway Thanks this.

They put the signs out this week. Until then I was parking there no problems. Much closer now practically across the street from where I live. I never been but my ol lady has if you know where the barn is that's where I live across from it down the street. One of the trucks I used to drive the clutch would go to the floor even If I rested my foot on it. I learned that way but still double clutch. Mostly the low side I float and some of the high side but not all. Training trucks will be fl Columbias in ellenwood I think. When I went there they were century's. they were in good shape. I wouldn't float til you go solo idk or not sure if the instructor will like or let u do it. If I were you I'd ask Gander mountain if you can park behind there store behind longhorns. They have a ton of room or in between Wendy's and Gander. Ill find better parking than have to parallel any day unless I have to haven't done it yet. You'll shift that truck like a champ after you go solo. Still have a mess up here or there but for the most part it'll just come to you

I will def ask Gander because its right down the street from my house, thanks for the advice. Like I said I think I am my own worst critic on my driving but am sure I will pick it up fast. Ive been to the barn a couple of times so I will also check out the market for parking.

i wouldn't worry too much about your driving. Unless it really needs work you should be fine. At orientation they don't expect you to nail everything right off the bat. As long as you improve then that's what they're looking for. And that your safe not endangering people in the truck or on the road around you lives. Other than that then the more experience and time you have behind the wheel the better you'll get and be more comfortable with driving and backing. Orientation and the trainer is only nerve racking for the most part. I've gotten into harry situations and made mistakes but as long as you learn from them that's the best part for me at least.
