Caution to all new owner operators, if you sign up at Risinger make sure you know what you are getting yourself into. If you don't stay with them for 6 months they take what they call Disposition and take $500.00 dollars out of your last paycheck. Nothing is like they tell you in orientation either.
The fuel surcharge is not calculated by the weekly rates. You do not get 100% of the fuel surcharge. They pay zip code to zip code so the drivers is out at least 20%. The fuel discount no way makes up the lost fuel surcharge.
They also have an escrow account of $2500.00 you have to pay in each week for 2 1/2 months-They also force you to have an maintenance account.
I lost at least $6000.00 working for them.
I'm now at Oakley Trucking in Arkansas and can say it's a great place to work. Doing the same mileage and making alot alot alot more money.

I think that 20% is a bit of an exageration, and the $2500 is still your money. You should be getting that back, with interest. So how did you lose $6000?
-
I never got any money back when I left them after 10 months there. They did not have any trips to pay me for though because I set it up where I was starting home time on last day of pay period then quit on payday.

They have 30 days to send me my last pay check, and escrow account. Will let you know what I get back. $6000 is the difference in fuel surcharge tax and actual miles driven, that I figured from my last job and the money I made at Risinger. they don't pay interest to me on my escrow account. Add in the $500.00 they took from my pay check for the disposition fee, which my check was $0.00. I drove 2400 miles.

Sstorm, So hows it going so far? Was planning to go in Dec.

Hows it going so far? Hard to know for sure. all you ever read here is bad stuff, nit much good here about any company.

Just so you know, the maintenance fund money belongs to the TRUCK. The only way to get back the money is to complete the contract.

I still think I'm going there as soon as I get my full (recent) year in. I have looked at a ton of L/P programs, and havent found anything any better. At least you do own the truck at some point. And in only 27 months, not after 6 years and a $16K balloon like Dart does. If you have to, you can walk away too. Looked at Schneider, but if I cant drive for disabilty or death, Im still stuck with the payments.
