This is one of my favorite trucks. Take a 3x8 piece of stainless plate and slip it in the gap between upper and lower rear fairing. Push it all the way in so it sticks out about 5 inches. Drill through the lip in back through upper fairing, through the plate and through the lower lip, then put a bolt with a couple washers and a nut to hold it all together. Drill 2 holes outside fairing through plate and fabricate a dipole by using 2 antennas- one pointed up mounted in a stud, the other pointed down, grounded to the plate. Do not use any ground wires. I stacked 2 dipoles using 4 antennas on my 387, swr was 1.0 reactance was 0, oms was at 52, and 40 miles was common for that setup.

I would like to see some pictures of that.........if possible.

It was about 7 years ago when I worked for Superservice out of Somerset Kentucky. No pics, although I did something similar with a Volvo 880, and I do have pics of that truck.

Well lay them on us. We might learn something!!

i wasted $50 0n mount and $35 on coax, and swr are reading 3.5 on low power.requires 30 feet. and also grounded to frame.

what is the bracket attached to? metal or fiberglass? if metal you are going to have a hard time creating a counterpoise.
eliminate the metal from the equation, and use a 4 foot francis antenna upside down as the counterpoise.
